The difference between the free Floriday platform and the Insights and Hortiheat apps06 March 2020
Floriday has been around for 2.5 years. Numerous functions such as direct sales, clock presales and the creation of a delivery note for the clock have been rolled out. Two apps have also been launched in Floriday: Insights and Hortiheat. However, what exactly is the difference between the free Floriday platform and the Insights and Hortiheat apps? We’ll tell you all about it in this update!
What is Floriday?
Floriday is the free digital platform for Royal Floraholland members, suppliers and soon customers, too. With Floriday, growers manage their stock, offerings and orders with ease in a single system. It enables you to trade in different sales channels, such as direct sales, clock presales and the clock. In other words, you manage your commercial activities in Floriday. You can do so on the Floriday screen or via the link to your own software package.
So, what are the apps?
In addition to the commercial activities supported in Floriday, the platform also offers space for support apps such as Insights and Hortiheat. These apps have been developed by other parties, separately from Floriday, and have their own support, communication and revenue models. These may be services offered by Royal Floraholland or other external organisations such as software suppliers or logistics parties. As a Floriday user, you decide yourself whether you want to use an app. You can add the app to your Floriday profile after agreeing to the terms and conditions of the app you wish to use.
Which apps are currently available in Floriday?
Insights and Hortiheat are the first two apps for growers. Insights is a paid data app, developed by Royal Floraholland's data team. This app gives growers insight into their own clock and direct data, as well as the clock data of other product groups. It allows growers to compare themselves with other clock growers in the same auction group. Insights is thus replacing Floranext. A subscription is needed in order to be able to use Insights. This subscription can be cancelled each month.
The HortiHeat app is an app that helps growers to reach buyers more quickly and easily with targeted offers. With HortiHeat, you can promote products by creating your own offers. Buyers can directly place an order based on these offers, which becomes immediately visible in Floriday. The app is currently offered free of charge and is developed by software company JEM-id.
Both apps have their own developers, support and communication. It is separate from the Floriday platform.
Make clever use of Floriday and the available apps
The apps are additional services that can be used by you as a grower. By cleverly and correctly using these apps and the functionality of the Floriday platform, growers can organise their daily trade more efficiently.
We see that growers who set up their sales in Floriday make use of several of the functionalities available. They offer their products through direct sales on the channels and customer-specific through mailings from the HortiHeat app. This means that buyers always see up-to-date offerings. Growers clearly indicate the delivery and availability options by using delivery-time sets, availability timers and in some cases also the delivery-from-stock service. This results in customised solutions for buyers, with standardised processing in the grower's own process.
Growers can follow their sales data in the Insights app. Here, they can consult direct-sales data on the one hand and auction-wide market analyses on the other. This information helps decision-making in both the short and long term. Which products do I offer when? Which quantities? What price conforms to the current markets? The data provides the grower with answers to these questions and enables them to determine the right direction in which to move.
We also see growers supplying a lot through clock presales and the clock. Among other things, they are using the price suggestion function in Floriday, which allows them to ask a market-based price in clock presales based on data. They are also using the Insights app to track their clock prices, gain insight into the average prices per location and compare themselves with fellow growers. These insights keep them well informed about the most recent clock prices and developments.
More and more growers are getting started with Floriday. Each week, more than 2,100 users process their daily trade in the platform. Once they've updated their catalogue and created an offer, they enjoy all the possibilities offered by the platform. Want to know more?
